Thermoanemometer FDA 05-TOK

Digital thermo anemometer omnidirectional

published on Feb 15, 2019

The new thermo anemometer type FDA 05-TOK is optimized for measuring low flow velocities in air. The omnidirectional, sensitive tip was equipped with an exposed heat-ball sensor. Due to the stable construction of the sensor tip, the thermo anemometer is particularly suitable for mobile use. The measuring range is from 0.050 to 1.000 m/s or 2.500 m/s.

Particularity:

The measured flow velocity depends on the air pressure. Therefore the automatic air pressure compensation is carried out with the thermo anemometer FDA 05-TOK. The air pressure sensor with measuring range 700 to 1100 mbar is located in the connector.

Thus, all environmental influences are taken into account during the measurement and a precise measurement is guaranteed.

Useful areas of application:

Thermistors and hot wire probes are highly sensitive transducers. The measuring element is heated continuously. With a control circuit, the temperature of the element is kept constant, which is cooled by the air flow. The control current is proportional to the flow velocity. With thermo anemometers very low air flows can be measured, also direction independent.

However, the sensors are relatively sensitive to mechanical stress and contamination as well as to turbulent flows. Thermo anemometers have a high power consumption and can only be used when the ambient temperature is limited. Vane anemometers or Pitot tubes are therefore available for corresponding applications.
